On April 24, the Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce will host the 2026 National Civics Bee® competition, presented by Partner Colorado Credit Union, in Arvada for the fourth straight year. Organized in partnership with The Civic Trust® of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the competition encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
Middle school students from public, private, charter, and home schools were invited to take part in the first-round civics essay competition. A distinguished panel then chose the top 20 students to move on to the next round of competition: a live quiz event to test their civics knowledge. Two finalists from last year’s Arvada competition placed first and second at the state competition, with one advancing to the National Civics Bee in Washington, D.C.!
This year, we’re excited to announce our event emcee is Outside the Box Arvada owner and CBS4 Denver meteorologist, Chris Spears! Arrive early to make signs at our Sign Station and cheer along during the event with pom poms provided in the seats. Every year, our attendees rave about how fun and inspiring they find this event.

If your group brings five or more people, we will display your business, non-profit, or group name on the event screen and shout you out during the event!
2. Play Along and Win a Prize Pack
Attendees can once again play along with the contestants from their phone with our Audience Quiz. This year, the top score from the audience will take home a prize pack from our local businesses.
3. Continue the Fun at the Official After Party
This year, the Chamber will host a Civics Bee after party at School House Kitchen and Libations in Olde Town Arvada. Support the students in our community and then join us for food and drinks at Arvada’s school-themed bar!
