Greater Arvada Chamber and Arvada Economic Development Association Offer New Business Resiliency Resources

October 2, 2025 – Arvada, CO – A resilient business community requires a strong commitment from partner organizations and the community at large to support a thriving economy. To this end, the Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce and Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) work closely to survey businesses for challenges and develop ongoing resources. AEDA and the Chamber have partnered to strengthen community resilience, with AEDA focusing on proactive strategies and the Chamber emphasizing responsive programming, together advancing economic resilience, recovery, and readiness support for our community.

The organizations are proud to announce two new opportunities that directly aid business resiliency in Arvada. AEDA, in partnership with the City of Arvada, has launched a new pilot grant program to help businesses enhance safety and security at their commercial properties. Through this program, companies may apply for reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 to offset the cost of eligible crime prevention improvements. Businesses interested in the AEDA Safety Grant Program can learn more at https://arvadaeconomicdevelopment.org/services/financial-assistance/aeda-safety-and-security-grant.

Additionally, the Greater Arvada Chamber is pleased to announce its new Arvada Strong Fund, which offers rapid, dependable support to local businesses and nonprofits when they encounter unexpected challenges. Whether it is recovering from a natural disaster, dealing with the aftermath of crime or property damage, or receiving scholarships for critical Chamber resources, the fund is designed to meet urgent needs and strengthen the long-term resilience of Arvada’s economy and community organizations.

So far, the Arvada Strong Fund has raised $7,773, thanks to generous community support, and the Chamber is on track to reach its 2025 goal of $20,000. By donating to the fund, community members and partners play an essential role in ensuring that Arvada’s small businesses remain resilient and continue to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face. The Chamber has already provided a grant to BeyondHome to address urgent needs related to basement flooding that affected several housing units.

Community members and organizations are encouraged to contribute to the Arvada Strong Fund today by visiting www.arvadachamber.org/arvadastrongfund.

The community can also support the Arvada Strong Fund through the “Round Up for Local Business & Non-Profits” campaign! When you eat and drink at participating local businesses in October, you will have the simple option to round up your bill and make a big impact. Every cent collected will help Arvada businesses and nonprofits recover from setbacks, access resources, and continue providing the services and experiences that make our community thrive.

Participating Businesses:

  • Kokoro, 5535 Wadsworth Blvd
  • Odyssey Beerwerks, 5535 W 56th Ave #107
  • Freedom Street Social, 15177 Candelas Pkwy
  • La Patisserie Francaise, 7885 Wadsworth Blvd

These initiatives complement the work of the Arvada Resiliency Taskforce (ART), a collaboration of community partners, including the Chamber and AEDA, committed to providing resources that help businesses adapt and succeed. ART recently released a Crime and Safety Toolkit at arvadachamber.org/ART which offers practical guidance and strategies for businesses to prevent and respond to crime.

Together, the Arvada Strong Fund, the AEDA pilot grant program, and ART resources demonstrate a shared commitment to resiliency, safety, and long-term business success in Arvada.

“Resiliency is at the heart of a strong local economy,” said Kami Welch, Greater Arvada Chamber President & CEO. “When our community invests in resiliency efforts, we ensure Arvada businesses can thrive and continue to contribute to the vitality of our city.”

“The safety and success of our local businesses go hand in hand,” said Iza Petrykowska, Executive Director of AEDA. “AEDA is proud to partner with our business community to invest in security improvements that protect employees, customers, and property. By helping our businesses address these challenges, we’re not only strengthening individual storefronts but also reinforcing the long-term growth and stability of Arvada’s entire economy.”

The No Neighbor Hungry Gift Card Drive is a community-wide effort to support Arvada families and local grocers impacted by the ongoing federal government shutdown, which has paused critical programs like SNAP and left thousands without access to essential food benefits. With nearly 10% of Arvada families affected, local nonprofits and food pantries are facing an urgent surge in demand. Community members are encouraged to purchase and drop off grocery gift cards or make direct donations to help ensure families can buy what they need and keep food on the table.
