Since opening its doors in November 2015, Olde Town Exchange has become much more than a women’s consignment boutique. It has grown into a welcoming gathering place where sustainability, style, and community come together. This month, we’re proud to recognize Olde Town Exchange as our Member of the Month and celebrate the business’s commitment to helping women look and feel their best while supporting a more sustainable way to shop.
Built with Purpose
Owner Nancy McLean always knew she wanted to own her own business, but she wanted it to be about more than retail.
“I always wanted to run my own business and was looking for something that had purpose, gave back to the community and was enjoyable.”
As longtime Arvada residents, Nancy and her team were excited to become part of the energy surrounding the revitalization of Olde Town. As the business continued to grow, they eventually outgrew their original downtown location and moved into their current space, where they continue to welcome customers from across the region.
A Curated Shopping Experience
Olde Town Exchange specializes in women’s clothing, handbags, jewelry, shoes, and accessories, offering everything from mid-range designer labels to luxury brands. Unlike a thrift store, every item is carefully selected based on its quality, condition, and style, creating a boutique shopping experience where customers can discover premium brands at a fraction of their original retail price.
The consignment model also benefits sellers, allowing customers to earn money on pieces they no longer wear and use those earnings to refresh their wardrobes, save for vacations, donate to charities, or simply stretch their budgets while finding unique, high-quality fashion.
Fashion with a Sustainable Impact
As more consumers embrace sustainable shopping habits, Nancy has seen the resale industry continue to gain momentum.
“The resale business is booming. It is growing two to three times the rate of regular retail business.”
She believes that growth reflects a shift toward reusing quality clothing, reducing the demand for fast fashion, and supporting locally owned businesses that keep dollars circulating within the community.
More Than a Store
While fashion brings people through the door, relationships are what keep them coming back.
Olde Town Exchange has become a place where customers can browse at their own pace, connect with others, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere. Behind that experience is a team of five women who are passionate about helping every customer find the perfect addition to their wardrobe.
For Nancy, the relationships built over the past decade have become the most rewarding part of owning the business.

The trust consignors place in the team and the connections formed with customers continue to define what makes Olde Town Exchange special.
Advice for Fellow Entrepreneurs
After more than a decade in business, Nancy encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to stay grounded in their purpose while remaining open to new ideas and perspectives.

Finding Community Through the Chamber
Nancy says one of the most valuable benefits of being a Greater Arvada Chamber member has been participating in the Inspiring Women program, where she has built meaningful relationships with fellow women business leaders.
As Olde Town Exchange begins its eleventh year, the business continues to demonstrate that retail can be about much more than selling clothing. Through thoughtfully curated fashion, sustainable practices, and genuine relationships, Nancy and her team have created a business rooted in purpose, community, and connection.
