Arvada needs affordable housing. If I can help make that happen, hard working people who work in Arvada will be able to actually live in Arvada.
I believe we have ways to provide affordable housing with positive impacts on the community and homeowners.

Why is the work of this KAPS Council important to you?

Many Arvada residents are now forced to take on excessive housing/rental costs spending over 40% of their income on housing payments while these costs continue to compete with the basic needs of food, medication, and debt as other compounding factors pile up. Affordability continues to be an issue and my hope is to utilize this council to solve some of these challenges that our community is facing.

Why is the work of this KAPS Council important to you?

Housing is one of the top three barriers to self-sufficiency for the teen moms we serve at Hope House. It is so important that we stay connected to all of the important work in this area so that we can help more of our young moms find and maintain stable housing. It is also critical that we find avenues to support our employees, who are passionate about working in the nonprofit field, to find affordable housing in our community. Housing costs are a barrier to working in nonprofit and we have had team members leave the state in order to find more affordable housing.
