4 Ways You Can Engage with Talent Development in Jeffco This Month

April 18, 2023

By Kylie Parks, Arvada Chamber Director of Talent Pipeline Development

As you may have read in the B.O.L.D. 2026 | Q1 2023 Outcomes, the Arvada Chamber has been very busy on the talent front to start the year. To make true progress on talent development in our region, we need engagement and commitment from our business community! Below are four ways Jeffco businesses and the community can get involved in new workforce events and programs:

  1. In the first quarter, we were able to kick off our Advanced Manufacturing Sector Partnership – MetroWest Advanced Manufacturing Alliance in partnership with Jeffco County Business and Workforce Center. Now we have our four cohort teams scheduled to create actionable solutions! Our Construction Sector Partnership will be kicking off this quarter as well. If you would like to learn more about being involved with either of these sector partnerships or upcoming partnerships in Healthcare and IT, please schedule time to chat here

  2. On April 26th, Arvada K-8 will host a Middle School Career Fair for multiple Jeffco schools in the Arvada area. Early exposure to a variety of career options gives students a chance to learn and to begin dreaming of what their future career could look like. These educational opportunities can also give students a tangible goal to work for and help keep them on track during their middle and high school years. If your company is interested in signing up follow this link here.

  3. The Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center is also hosting a Youth Opportunity Fair to connect young people with exciting career pathways and employment opportunities. This event is open to all youth and young adults ages 14-24. This event will be held on Friday, April 28th from 11am to 2pm at the Jefferson County Business and Workforce Center. If your company is interested in signing up follow this link here.

  4. The Colorado Workforce Development Council recently released the launch of the Career Navigation and Coaching Collaborative, a statewide career coaching program for any Colorado resident, specifically those who have been displaced during the pandemic. The program employs and trains 26 career coaches to serve Coloradans who are looking for jobs, looking to switch careers, exploring continuing education, advancing, or simply taking the first steps toward a fulfilling and rewarding career. Interested job seekers and students can connect with a career coach by submitting a form online at www.cocareercoaching.com.
