Happy Spring Everyone! As the weather begins to warm up and the days are getting longer, we will have more opportunity to get out and be active! Spring is my favorite season in Colorado and I am so excited to get out there and enjoy our beautiful state. After a long, cold winter, getting active again may feel like a challenge. If your joints are stiff and your muscles are tight or you have been neglecting that troublesome shoulder, knee, back, or hip, acupuncture is an excellent choice for recovery. Reducing pain and improving mobility are just a few of the benefits of receiving acupuncture for injuries. Energy levels are boosted and metabolism is stimulated with acupuncture, making it a very efficient tool for an active lifestyle. Another unique tool that we use in the clinic to enhance muscle recovery and reduce pain is cupping. Cupping draws cellular waste and lactic acid from the muscles by using suction and brings those materials more superficially to be flushed out by the circulatory system. Cupping also feels fantastic!

Pilates is also a great way to feel strong and injury free and maintain your body with strength and flexibility for an active season. Pilates creates long, strong muscles that work efficiently and enhance joint mobility and stability. It is a great option for bringing balance to the body and reducing pain from injuries by facilitating optimal movement patterns and good posture. A lot of professional athletes have turned to pilates and acupuncture to maintain their conditioning and performance. If you have plans for an active spring and summer season, these methods can keep you going and make your adventures injury and pain free!
