Arvada Chamber of Commerce Launches First DEI Survey to Assess Business Community’s Inclusion Practices

(June 16, 2023) Arvada, CO – The Arvada Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of its first diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) survey to assess the Arvada business community’s strengths, weaknesses and opportunities around inclusion practices.

This survey was designed by the Arvada Chamber’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + Belonging (DEI+B) KAPS Council. The business and community leaders on this council work diligently to advance the Chamber’s DEI+B commitment. By creating an inclusive environment, the Chamber’s vision in this work is to empower new perspectives, solutions, and opportunities for our local economy and serve as a champion for advancing all businesses and employees in Arvada.

The Arvada Chamber understands that fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion of people from different backgrounds and perspectives is essential for our local economy to thrive. Recent Gartner research reveals that “differences of age, ethnicity, gender and other dimensions foster high performance.” Teams with diverse thinkers are shown to drive success through innovation, talent retention, and market expansion.

This survey will help the Chamber’s DEI+B KAPS Council determine a baseline for inclusion business practices and identify gaps in knowledge, support and resources that the Chamber can work to provide. The Arvada Chamber will issue this survey annually to mark movement in needs and adoption of DEI best practices.

“As a member of the DEI+B KAPS Council, this survey is a critical step in our inclusion work as we look to source the resources and training Arvada businesses need around hiring, retention, culture, and more,” said Vanessa Kendrick, Real Estate Broker at Your Castle Real Estate and Arvada Chamber Board Chair.

The Arvada Chamber encourages all Arvada business owners or human resource directors to take part in the open survey and share their valuable opinions. The survey will be accessible now through July 3 at arvadachamber.org/DEIsurvey.
