Arvada Chamber Shares Cultural Assessment, Next Steps in DEI Initiative

This Spring, the Arvada Chamber of Commerce signed a contract with Thriving Culture, a Denver-based consulting agency, to audit, engage and educate organization stakeholders and business leaders on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) best practices. As the first step of this initiative, the consulting firm performed a comprehensive cultural assessment with internal constituents as well as its membership to understand cultural, structural, and leadership gaps as well as opportunities for development.

ARVADA, Co, September 29, 2021 – The Arvada Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2020 Man and Woman of the Year, Image Award, Young Professional Leadership Award, and Rising Star Award winners. Recipients of these awards will be honored at the October 6, 2021 Arvada Chamber of Commerce 70th Annual Awards Luncheon from 11:30-1:00 pm at Social Capitol Events.

This month, 14 Arvada business and non-profit professionals graduated from the Arvada Chamber’s 2021 Business Bootcamp. Completed on virtual meetings across 12 weeks, this program was designed for small business owners and high-level executives looking to strengthen and grow their business, rise above the competition and create lasting change to benefit their business and employees.

The Q2 Business Pulse Survey assists us in the development of new programming and resources to help our business community thrive. This survey also incorporates questions from the Arvada Chamber’s annual business challenges survey. Feedback from this annual poll is shared with the Chamber’s board of directors and drives strategic planning on the most urgent initiatives.

April 19, 2021 – In March 2021, the Arvada Chamber of Commerce signed a contract with Thriving Culture, a Denver-based consulting agency, to audit, engage and educate organization stakeholders and business leaders on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) best practices. The Arvada Chamber prioritized inclusion as a central element of its value statement in 2019. The race and social justice issues in 2020 advanced further a robust dialogue around action and opportunity for the Arvada Chamber to serve as a business and community leader in the DEI space.

On February 3, 2021 the Arvada Chamber was recognized for Outstanding Program by the Western Association of Chamber Executives for its role in the Arvada Resiliency Taskforce. Created with a cross-section of local partners in response to COVID-19, this Taskforce worked diligently to support efforts to understand the impact of COVID-19 closures and respond quickly with programs, resources and policy shifts. for all businesses in Arvada.
