September 16, 2020 by Ryan Hecht Leave a Comment

(September 16, 2020) Arvada, CO– Today the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, along with partners on the  Arvada Resiliency Taskforce, announced next steps in a proactive approach to helping businesses in the community during the current public health crisis by offering a free COVID-19 At Your Business Toolkit that is a living, updated resource for employers and employees to navigate these difficult times.

“Local businesses are the heart of every community and helping owners and managers by providing easily accessible information and resources is something we knew early on we must do to keep Arvada and surrounding communities safe and open, ” Arvada Chamber of Commerce President Kami Welch said.

Visit the COVID-19 At Your Business Toolkit for a comprehensive list of resources including information on what to do to stay safe before a COVID-19 case and what to do if a confirmed case is reported at your location. The toolkit contains the latest local case information, testing locations, return-to-work guidance, and communication samples to use in the event of a reported case at a place of business. Other resources for businesses include a Workforce Toolkit with unemployment, workshare and paid family leave details and City of Arvada and Adams County Mini-Grants  to help businesses with supplies, technology and compliance.  Additionally, free PPE is available to Arvada businesses at www.arvadachamber.org/ppe.

As Arvada moves towards recovery, the community is encouraging residents and visitors to support local businesses. For more information, visit Invest in Arvada where you will find a list of more than 100 restaurants open for takeout, delivery or curbside options right now through the Takeout Takeover guide; outdoor dining options in Olde Town Arvada where streets are closed to traffic through November 3 at Olde Town Arvada; and many shopping options from designer wear to fly fishing gear, salons, toys, home decor, and florists at the Arvada Economic Development Association business directory.

More than 260 local businesses have taken a Safe and Open pledge that includes agreeing to adhere to industry specific health and safety guidelines provided by county public health and the State of Colorado; communicating expectations of safety protocols and behavior to employees and customers who wish to enter the business; doing everything in their knowledge/ability to provide a safe work environment and doing everything in their knowledge/ability to keep customers safe. Customers will see Safe and Open signs in businesses throughout Arvada.  Visit Safe and Open for a comprehensive list.
