Boulder Shooting Victim’s Family Donates to Arvada-based Mental Health Nonprofit

April 05, 2022

Arvada, CO (March 25, 2022) – A year after the tragic shooting, the family and friends of a victim of the boulder shooting have chosen to support an Arvada mental health nonprofit. Connecting the victim’s love of animals with Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado (AATPC), the victim’s family and friends made a meaningful connection with a nonprofit committed to providing low-cost animal-assisted psychotherapy in the Denver Metro area.

The donation, raised by the victim’s family over the past year, will support Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado. “Supporting mental health is important, because it might stop something like this from happening again.” says a family member. “She loved animals. she always adopted the dogs that were unadoptable, so this is a great fit.”

How you can help: In memory of the victim a gazebo will be built in one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations on the ranch. This gazebo will serve as an additional therapy space for clients to work with their therapists and will feature a plaque with the names of all those killed in the shooting. It will be a place of reflection, meditation and peace. To ensure that 100% of the donation can go to supporting mental health programs, AATPC is currently seeking donations and possibly construction of the gazebo. CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
