Survey Demographics

COVID-19 Needs

Arvada businesses responded with needs for at-home COVID-19 tests (73%), KN95 Masks (50%), a list of active testing locations (42%) and cleaning supplies (31%). A list of current testing sites can be found here. The Arvada Resiliency Taskforce will release additional information regarding other resources.

Talent and Workforce Needs

The impact of COVID-19 has continued to put a strain on attracting and retaining talent. In fact, finding skilled employees was the number one business challenge in the last survey on 2021. We asked businesses what resources would best support their talent challenges.

Half of the businesses responded with the need to access interns and apprentices to build their talent pipeline. Additionally, 44% of businesses are looking for increased promotion of open jobs in Arvada through the Arvada Career Hub. Another 27% of businesses are looking for connections to non-profits who are supporting career pathway development for underserved populations. The survey also found a need for training, specifically around organizational efficiencies (24%) and technology/automation (18%).

Mental Health Needs

Mental health and burnout was the #2 business concern in the last survey. We asked which services would be most beneficial for businesses if they were offered at no cost.

The top response (44%) was frequent tips to increase emotional resilience and nearly a third of respondents are looking for additional content in the form of blogs and articles. Therapy sessions (36%) and individual coaching sessions (33%) were also a need found in this survey. Additionally, a fifth of respondents are interested in quarterly live webinars with a mental health professional. Please look for more information on these resources in the coming weeks.
